“The Triple P program is not telling us how to be a parent; it’s giving us the tools to be better at it.” Louise, mother of two.

Kids don’t come with an instruction manual. The Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) can help with a specific problem, or provide tips and tools on parenting and help with understanding your child’s development and behaviour. It targets mums, dads, single parent families, step parenting or carers with children aged 3-8 years.

Triple P groups and seminars are being run across Metro West regions on a periodic basis. Trained Triple P Practitioners devote a lot of time and effort to ensure parents are equipped with strategies to help develop strong family relationships that assists their children to reach their full potential.

Family Worker Training + Development Programme strives to support Triple P Practitioners and equip them with specific skills to help with their role. It does so through:

  • Network meetings – Practitioner support  meetings held across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, as well as an Aboriginal Triple P support group.
  • Newsletters – Newsletters are distributed to Triple P Practitioners in Metro West focusing on current news, feature stories and best practice tips.
  • Training and Development – opportunities are provided for practitioners to strengthen their practice.
  • Being a support mechanism for all practitioners and encouraging greater use of the NSW Triple P Practitioners Website.
