Children’s Mental Health – Supporting Children Impacted by Parental Conflict and Separation

This training will look at the impact of parental conflict and separation on children’s social, emotional and cognitive development. Learn skills to support them and their parents using a trauma informed, narrative approach. A strength based approach will also be used to build resilience and self-worth.

This training is a must for anyone working with Children and Families!

Anyone working with Children and Families who wants to gain understanding of the impact of parental conflict on children’s development and to support them.


Bradley Foxlewin

Bradley is an independent Mental Health Consumer Consultant, member and past Chair of the Australian Capital Territory, ACT, Mental Health Consumer Network. Bradley works as a trainer, group-worker, consultant and researcher, all from a consumer-first position. He has 20 years of experience in the Community  and Health sectors, including schools and Youth services, Corrections, and family counselling. He holds a Masters degree in Social Ecology and is currently working in various mental health settings as a Trainer, Researcher and Group Leader.

Bradley draws on a range of modalities, such as Narrative Therapy, Gestalt and Object Theatre to support young people and families in the areas of anger, violence and abuse.

Bradley has a deep and abiding interest in issues affecting consumers of mental health services and survivors of childhood abuse and a strong commitment to partnerships across mental health settings that support better outcomes for consumers and those who care about consumers. Bradley has previously worked, over a period of 20 years, as a manager in community services, a counsellor for young men who have survived sexual abuse as children and he has had significant input into the development of men’s services in the ACT.
