An Introduction to Reflective Practice Based Supervision

This one day workshop provides a refresher/introduction to reflective practice for supervisors/team leaders interested in engaging in this style of supervisory practice. You will learn how to apply reflective practice based questions through a reflective learning cycle plus how to apply solution based theory and strengths based practice as a way of supporting reflective practice and more.
Being engaged in reflective practice is essential for worker’s professional development and also to prevent professional dangerousness which can occur when working with children and families experiencing risk to their safety and well-being.

Nicki Weld (Special Guest from New Zealand)
Nicki Weld is a social work professional and the Director of CNZN Ltd, New Zealand, which provides training, facilitation, supervision and solutions for child protection and social service management and workers. She has worked for a number of years in a variety of social service and child protection roles, including senior social worker, supervisor, senior trainer, and as a national social work advisor.
Nicki is the primary creator of the Three Houses information gathering tool used internationally and the author and co-author of six books published in New Zealand, England and Japan.
Nicki is currently completing her doctorate in social work at the University of Auckland.
